Trivial genuine errors in applying for job can't be ground for disqualification: SC
The Supreme Court ruled that trivial errors should not be used to deny a job to a successful candidate. The court directed the state government to appoint a village boy from Bihar as a police constable, despite a mistake in his date of birth. The petitioner had sought help from an internet cafe owner and made an inadvertent error in the online form. The court emphasized that justice should not be forsaken due to technicalities and that the error was insignificant and should not be penalized.
